Neighborhoods and Activities in Baton Rouge

Wow! This Never Happens Here....

This morning at 6:30am central time the city of Baton Rouge awoke to glistening beauty.  Having lived 12 years in Ohio I was so excited that I call my team and had them capture pictures for our blog.  This is a rare event that occurs only every 5 years or so here in the far South.  The beauty is captivating.

A SNOW DAY!  The kids stay home because schools are cancelled.  Even the dogs are fascinated.  There is no traffic as only a rare few venture out on business.  Greetings to all this beautiful winter morning.

Ann, as beautiful as that is, and it is!, you can keep it! I moved to the south to get away from snow and the cold weather of the north. I don't miss it at all. Thanks for sharing. : ]

Yes, Tony, I will be glad that tomorrow the sun will shine and the snow will be gone.  But for a day it's lots of fun.

Holly cow.....I lived in Montgomery and P-Cola for many years and the most I ever saw was hard hail that looked like snow......

Talk about climate changes......kind of scary....

How pretty! I love snow- when it falls, it's like magic. We're supposed to get some starting Sunday, and I'm hoping we will. SO far this year it's just been rain.

Todd,

This is one of the heaviest snows I remember and I've been here over 15years.  We usually just get a sprinkling.  I guess in Seattle in the valley you get mostly rain unless you're up in the mountains?

Leslie,

Snow is nice around Christmas.  Puts you in a holiday spirit.
