Naughty or Nice?

Blueberry crunch pie from Baum's Fine Pasteries and Chocolates, Baton Rouge, LA

Looking for something a little different this holiday season?  I found a delicious fruit pie at a local Baton Rouge Bakery, Baum's fine pastries & chocolates, called Blueberry Crunch pie.  I call it naughty and nice because it is chocked full of delicious, plump, blueberries.  Blueberries are now recognized to have important health benefits, and have the highest antioxidant capacity of all fresh fruit.  I call it naughty because it is also full of carbohydrates and sugar.  But everywhere I go it is a big treat.

Baum's Blueberry crunch pie and decorated Candy CanesAnd if you are not into blueberries, you can find other novel treats and goodis along with all the season standards.  Another of my favorities are the candy canes with edible decorations.  They have a variety of flavors and shapes.  They make super Christmas present decorations on bows and ribbons on top of your gift.

So if you are stuck without enough time to bake this year, visit Baum's Fine Pasteries.  There's a store on Florida and another on Perkins Rd.
